Tash Turgoose is an author, illustrator and academic, currently undertaking a PhD in conservation communication (focusing on transmediality) at the University of the Sunshine Coast. She has previously worked as the Head of Communications at the Australian Centre for Pacific Islands Research, and Lead Communications Officer in the Pacific Agriculture Scholarships and Support Program, and now focuses on wildlife and wild place conservation.

She wrote and illustrated Makeshift Galaxy (2018), illustrated The Monster Apprentice (2018) and was part of multi-authored project Murder in the Mail (2018). Her latest work can be seen in best-selling author Levison Wood’s The Last Giants: The Rise and Fall of the African Elephant (2020).

Her academic research focuses on innovation in illustration and design as well as conservation, ecological disaster, travel and historical storytelling, and transmediality.
